Young Enterprise
YE Nine
Year 9 - Friday 3rd December
YE Nine is an innovative programme that is fun and interactive.
Pupils work in teams and learn through participation what it means to be enterprising and discover what an 'Entrepreneur' is.
By participating in the YE Nine programme pupils will be able to identify the skills and qualities of a good entrepreneur and the importance of innovation and creativity. Pupils participate in a 'business challenge' which involves preparing a business plan to launch a new board game and then making a prototype of the game.
Prizes are given for the best business plan and the best board game.

Learn to Earn
Year 11 - Wednesday 3rd November
On Wednesday 3rd November a Young Enterprise advisor (Jill Nesbitt) came to our school. She spoke to Year 11 pupils about how to make the correct decisions later on in life.
For our first activity we had to write down the alphabet and think up jobs beginning with every letter. To help, Jill gave us a booklet which contained a list of jobs and their descriptions. We then talked about careers and what we wanted to do when we are older.
We also did an activity which was a budget planner - we had to pick a certain plan on savings, rent/mortgage and utilities etc. We found out a lot about budgeting and managing money.
For our last activity we had the chance to interview people in our class for different jobs.
Everyone enjoyed the activities and some of us have a good idea of what we would like to do in the future.
