Paris 2010
On the 7th December 2010, 18 pupils travelled to Paris with Mr Beattie and Mrs Gray.
On Wednesday we started our day with a walking tour of the beautiful sites in Notre Dame. This included the cathedral and a bridge with lots of love padlocks attached onto it with the key thrown into the river for eternal love. We then went to the Eiffel Tower but unfortunately could not get climbing because it was snowing heavily and it was too dangerous! In the evening, we went for an hour long cruise of the River Seine. It was a wonderful, educational experience. We also saw the Eiffel Tower lit up at night after the cruise.
We spent all day Thursday at Disneyland Paris! We saw the parade of the fairy tale characters; it was a truly magical experience. In the afternoon we spent all of our time on extremely large and spine chilling rides. This resulted in many people feeling very ill, although that didn’t stop them from going on the Aerosmith several times!
We had our dinner that evening in Planet Hollywood. Numerous famous people donated props from well known films to this restaurant.
Friday came all too quickly for everyone on this trip. We tried to lift our spirits by going to see the Louvre Pyramid and the Arc de Triomphe. This was truly amazing. We travelled by Metro to the Christmas markets where there were wonderful stalls selling lovely jewellery, Christmas decorations, toys and much more.
We landed at Belfast International Airport that night after a truly breathtaking experience and one that will never be forgotten for years to come.
