Opportunity Europe and Beyond

GCSE French students visited an exhibition 'Opportunity Europe and Beyond' in St. George's Market, Belfast on 19th October. They were given the opportunity to participate in a number of language workshops such as German, Spanish and Portuguese as well as communicating in other languages to win prizes. They learned about Indian culture, watched a play in French and some joined in a traditional Chinese dance, 'Dance with the Dragon'.

There were many exhibitions stands and the pupils learned a lot about linguistic and cultural diversity and the importance of European and International links. It was a very worthwhile visit which allowed pupils to meet people from other parts of Europe and gain confidence in trying to communicate in another language.
