All Ireland Irish Dancing Championships

25th-27th June 2010

On Friday morning we went to the bus and we set of to Dublin. It was a 3 hour journey but the time flew in because we were trying to make the people in cars behind us wave to us and honk their horns!

When we got there we went to our apartments which were called Abberley Court Apartments. When we were settled in we started to get ready. We had to wear wigs - some wigs were bun wigs and some were full head wigs. We also had to put make-up on. When we were all ready to go we got on the bus to the Feis. Once we got there we started to dance.

On the first two days we had individual competitions.

Cathy got two 2nd places in the single jig and the slip jig, two 3rd places in the hornpipe and treble jig, a 7th place in the reel, a 6th place in light double jig, a 5th place in the in the Visitor's Championship and an 8th place in the Open Championship.

Jemma got a 1st place in the reel, a 3rd place in the Visitor's Championship, a 4th place in the hornpipe and a 6th place in the open championship.

In the team competition on the third day we won 2nd place in the jig and a 3rd place in the Iron Stitches.

On the Monday morning we got packed and headed home on the bus. We had a really good time in Dublin and look forward to the next time.
